Baird is sworn-in
Ottawa
West-Nepean MP John Baird was sworn-in at a ceremony at Pariament Hill earlier
this week after being re-elected in October. Roughly 50 people -- family,
friends and other supporters -- attended. Marc Bosc, Deputy Clerk of the House
of Commons looked on as Baird signed the register after swearing the oath of
office.
‘It’s absolutely baffling’
Hundreds of people gathered at Ottawa council chambers on Monday, Nov. 18, to protest
a proposal to axe more than $6 million from all municipal arts, culture and
heritage funding next year.
